Staff

CRST delivers its solutions through a competent and qualified team, dedicated to develop reliable mechanisms for statistical gathering and reporting.

We provide continuous training to help staff understand the finer nuances of the tourism industry, regionally & globally

Our handpicked team, with a complementing balance of core competencies is well equipped to undertake independent market intelligence reports, trend analysis reports, and comparative data reports, within Sri Lanka and across South Asia.

Core competencies within the CRST Team

  • To collect, collate, and disseminate information that is useful to the relevant stakeholders for key decision-making and promotion of tourism in Sri Lanka.
  • To establish a non-profit Center for Research and Sustainability Studies in Tourism (CRST) dedicated to identifying, collecting, collating, analyzing, and disseminating relevant tourism statistics, data, and trends to be used by stakeholders in the tourism industry, and to be recognized as a credible source of information for decision-making and future planning thereby supplementing the government’s efforts to increase tourism revenue. CRST will run as a regional resource center for South Asia.

  • The proposed Center for Research and Sustainability Studies for Tourism (CRST) would help improve the Sri Lanka tourism data system. The CRST will act as an independent tourism cluster research database, providing actionable data, analyses, and studies that any tourism organization can use to make informed decisions. It would have competent staff dedicated to developing a mechanism for statistical gathering and reporting as well as carrying out market intelligence reports, trend analysis reports, and comparative data reports within Sri Lanka and that of the growing region.
  • The proposed Center would complement the work of the SLTDA by providing support and independent information. In addition, as an independent organization, the Center would be the bridge in joining together all stakeholders from students to travel agents and operators, tourism companies, government entities, investors, universities, and any others who are directly or indirectly involved in tourism domestically and internationally. The Center would also network with other tourism related organizations including World Tourism Organization, PATA, World Economic Forum, Polytechnic University (Hong Kong), and TEDQUAL.

The outputs of the CRST will depict an overall picture of tourism in the country as well as the South Asian/Southeast Asian region and the rest of the world.
